THE LITTLE THINGS, TAKEN CARE OF

Less upkeep. More upside.

You’re in control.

Start, stop, and open each service independently. One app’s downtime doesn’t have to be everyone’s.

Know how things are going.

Check CPU and memory usage, see recent activity, and keep an eye on your services from the menu bar.

Updates, without the guesswork.

Check for new service versions and read release notes before deciding to update.

Your folders feel at home.

Choose accessible folders, including NAS shares mounted in Finder. Reconnect them if they become unavailable.

Ready when you are.

Set startup and keep-awake preferences for each service. Keep Liberum open for monitoring and keep-awake features.

Native, through and through.

Built for Apple Silicon and Apple’s container runtime, with an interface that speaks Mac.

YOUR FILES. STILL YOUR FILES.

A home for your services.
Not a move for your life.

Keep your media and photos in the folders you already know. Liberum gives your services read-only access to those originals, with settings and service data stored separately.

Managed storage isn’t a backup.
Keep independent copies of what matters.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Honest answers.

A little clarity before
a little more independence.

What is Liberum?

Liberum is a native Mac app for setting up and managing self-hosted services. Discover an app, follow its setup, and manage its status, updates, and activity in one place. Liberum is currently in development.

What Mac will I need?

The current development build requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later, plus Apple’s container runtime installed and working. An internet connection is needed to download services. Requirements will be confirmed for the public release.

Which apps are planned for launch?

Jellyfin, Immich, and Niai are the planned lineup. Jellyfin and Immich have been exercised in local development. Niai’s integration is implemented, but its live installation has not yet been verified and depends on an available upstream release. The final lineup may change before launch.

What happens to my existing files?

Selected media and photo folders are mounted read-only. Settings, databases, and other writable service data live in separate managed storage. You can use accessible folders and NAS shares already mounted in Finder. Managed storage is not a backup; keep independent backups.

Can I use my services on other devices?

Jellyfin and Immich are intended for use on your Mac and home network. Niai is restricted to the Mac itself. Your Mac needs to stay awake while serving other devices. Liberum does not configure internet access or router forwarding.

Does everything stay on my Mac?

Liberum runs the managed services on your Mac. Individual services may make their own network requests. Niai can connect to an external AI provider you choose, so information sent to that provider is subject to its terms and privacy practices.

When can I try it, and what will it cost?

Liberum is not yet available as a public download. A release date and pricing have not been announced. Email signups will open soon so you can hear when it is ready.
